like nothing’s changed.

Simpson, not the killer knife

wielder warrior of the open field

fleet of foot, and brave

heart to heart with millions,

it’s the other brother, also 

a cartoon character, Homer

who speaks for us

and carries us, slow

as the turtle, with him

into the arena, the Acropolis

of the electric current

state of our sad affairs.
